   Adding and Removing Databases

To create a new database on a customer account:

  1. If you are subscribed to several hosting packages and have access to several webspaces associated with your account, in the Subscriptionmenu at the top of the screen, select the required webspace.
  2. Click the Websites & Domains tab.
  3. Click Databases (in the Advanced Operations group).
  4. Click Add New Database.
  5. Enter a name for the database.

We recommend that you choose a name that starts with a Latin alphabet symbol and comprises only alphanumeric and underscore symbols (up to 64 symbols).

  6. Select the database type that you are going to use: MySQL, PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server. Click OK.
  7. To set up database administrator's credentials, click Add New Database User.
  8. Type a user name and a password that will be used for accessing the contents of the database.
  9. Click OK.

To remove a database with its contents:

  1. If you are subscribed to several hosting packages and have access to several webspaces associated with your account, in the Subscriptionmenu at the top of the screen, select the required webspace.
  2. Go to the Websites & Domains tab > Databases.
  3. Select a checkbox corresponding to the database that you want to remove.

If the required checkbox appears grayed out, this means that this database is used by a web application and you can remove it only by removing the respective application.

  4. Click Remove.
  5. Confirm removal and click OK.
